Dr. Priscilla L. Carpenter
Meet Dr. Carpenter
Dr. Carpenter grew up in Charlotte, NC and is a proud middle child out of six children. Growing up in a close-knit family instilled a strong sense of community, teamwork, and a desire to help others. She has been fortunate to be able to carry these elements into the different aspects of her life, including dentistry.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Howard University in Washington, DC, Dr. Carpenter returned to Howard University to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During her matriculation through dental school, she discovered a love for complex cases that allowed for pain management, patient care, and challenging diagnosis, and she quickly realized that endodontics is the epitome of that.
Upon graduation, she was inducted into the national dental honors society Omicron Kappa Upsilon for academic excellence, and received several awards, including the AAE Student Achievement Award in Endodontics. Dr. Carpenter went on to continue her training, earning a Certificate in Endodontics, and a Master’s of Science from the University of Florida. While there, she had the distinct honor of being elected to serve as the Chief Resident in her final year.
Passionate about reducing patient dental anxiety and fear, Dr. Carpenter strives to provide comfortable, quality care to each patient. She believes in the power of root canal therapy, as it offers patients a chance to save their natural teeth, which can help change their perspective and improve their overall oral health, giving them a renewed sense of the importance in their dental care.
Dr. Carpenter is board eligible and is in the process of obtaining Board Certification from the American Board of Endodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), American Dental Association (ADA), NC Dental Society, and currently serves on the Resident and New Practitioner Committee of the AAE.
In her free time she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband, their dogs, family, and friends. She also enjoys curling up with a great book. Dr. Carpenter, her husband, and their dogs, Zola and Bear, are all thrilled to be back home in Charlotte, NC serving the people of the Queen City.
