Dr. Priscilla L. Carpenter
Meet Dr. Carpenter
Dr. Carpenter is a native of Charlotte, NC. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Howard University in Washington, DC. Dr. Carpenter returned to Howard University to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the national dental honors society Omicron Kappa Upsilon for academic excellence, and received several awards, including the AAE Student Achievement Award in Endodontics. Dr. Carpenter went on to continue her training, earning a Certificate in Endodontics, and a Master’s of Science from the University of Florida. While there, she had the distinct honor of being elected to serve as the Chief Resident in her final year.
Passionate about reducing patient dental anxiety and fear, Dr. Carpenter strives to provide comfortable, quality care to each patient. She believes in the power of root canal therapy, as it offers patients a chance to save their natural teeth, which can help change their perspective and improve their overall oral health, giving them a renewed sense of the importance in their dental care.
Dr. Carpenter is board certified by the American Board of Endodontics, an accomplishment achieved by only approximately 20% of Endodontists. In order to obtain Diplomate status, Dr. Carpenter successfully completed a rigorous three-part examination that included a review of her education, knowledge, skills, and ability to apply new research and advances to the practice of endodontics, as well as her commitment to providing the highest quality of patient care. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), American Dental Association (ADA), NC Dental Society, and currently serves on the RNPC Committee of the AAE.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and daughter, their dogs, family, and friends. Dr. Carpenter and her family are thrilled to be back home in Charlotte, NC serving the people of the Queen City.
